Meet The Brains Behind RobbMc Performance Products

I'm Robb McMackin. My partner Craig Holmes and I started RobbMc about two years ago . This newsletter is our way of saying hi and letting you know a little about us and our company.

Craig and I are both engineers. My degree is in mechanical engineering while Craig's is in electrical. Like me, Craig is a car guy first and an engineer second.

Craig and I worked as design engineers for Mallory Ignition for many years. Combined, we spent over 25 years at Mallory. While at Mallory I also designed rocker arms for Erson Cams. Before working for Mallory and Erson, I spent six years working for Tilton Engineering helping to design clutches, hydraulic throw out bearings, bellhousings and some of the very first mini starters for American V8 engines.

Once we decided to start our own company, we had to decide what type of products to offer. We decided to concentrate on performance products for less popular engines. We have both owned, modified and raced cars with less popular engines and knew how frustrating it could be trying to find parts that were easy to find if you owned a SBC or SBF. We wanted to make products with features available nowhere else. Even our products for popular engines like the SBC had to have something unique about them. After all, we weren't going to beat the Chinese made products on price so we had to beat them with better features. We decided early on to use as many American made components as possible.

The photos you see are just some of the cars we have owned, restored, modified and/or raced over the years. And these photos don't even include the air cooled 2180cc VW, the 2.3L Fords, the X19 and the RX7. Between the two of us, we have experience with a large variety of performance cars, including the not-so-popular.

Unfortunately, most of the cars in these photos have been sold or traded. In the next issue of our newsletter we will show you some of the cars we currently own and are using as test vehicles for RobbMc. They include a Buick, an Olds, and an AMC.

Stay tuned.
