New RobbMc Gen II Mini Starter


RobbMc is proud to introduce our new "Gen II" mini starter. Using feedback from customers, we have made several improvements over our original starter while still maintaining the features that made our original so popular:
  • The Gen II starter is 1/2" shorter than our original for additional clearance with headers and other obstacles.
  • We have moved the through bolts and clamp ring inside the motor for more clearance.
  • The internal clamp ring in the new Gen II starter is wedge shaped rather than flat. This provides three times more clamping torque to ensure the solenoid doesn't rotate out of position, while still allowing the solenoid to be rotated to any angle.
  • A spiral lock retaining ring is no longer used to hold the pinion gear in place. These retaining rings were sometimes torn from the original Robbmc starters if the operator did not release the key right away when the engine started (or if the starter was wired wrong with a remote solenoid).
  • The Gen II starter can be used with a Ford style remote solenoid (relay) without having the battery cable "hot" all the time.
  • The optional pinion support modification on the Gen II starter uses a larger diameter support shaft. This reduces the chance of the shaft getting bent if the starter is dropped on the floor (or thrown off the truck by the mailman).
  • A larger stud is used for the small wire on the solenoid to reduce the chance of cross threading or stripping the threads.
  • Rubber one-way valves are used in the vent holes to prevent debris/water from entering while still allowing ventilation.
  • The Gen II starter is priced $30 less than our original starter.
